Some medicines are different than the ones you pick up at your regular pharmacy. What makes these medicines special? They usually need to be kept at certain temperatures, handled with extra care, and delivered quickly to make sure they work properly.

 

That’s why we have a network specialty pharmacy to help with these important medications. These specialty drugs may need to be injected, put directly into your bloodstream, or taken orally.

 

Here’s how we help you:

  • Delivery wherever works best for you – your home, your doctor’s office, or another place you choose.

Getting your specialty medicine is easy. Your doctor can send up your prescription three different ways:

Understanding your drug coverage

To make sure your specialty medicines are covered by your plan:

 

  • Use a network pharmacy
  • Some medicines are covered under your medical plan instead of your pharmacy plan. Be prepared for copayment or coinsurance for those medicines.
  • Some medicines require precertification, where your doctor must explain why you need them, and we must approve them first.
